Animal Box Office Estimate Day 1: Ranbir Kapoor starrer creates RECORD on Friday; collects Rs. 60 crores in India

Animal has taken a roaring start at the box office in India with early estimates indicating an opening day in the range of Rs. 59 to 61 crores. The Ranbir Kapoor film has collected around Rs. 50 to 52 crores in Hindi, whereas the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions have collected in the range of Rs. 9.50 to 11.00 crores.

This is a historic opening for an A-rated film on a non-holiday, that too with clash. If the film had arrived solo at the box office, the first-day business would have been even higher, probably by another 10 to 15 percent, scoring a record opening day beating the holiday release, Jawan on a Non-Holiday. With Animal, Ranbir Kapoor has become the newest and first superstar of Hindi Cinema in the modern world and it’s on him to capitalize on this and reach new heights.

The three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – have collected Rs. 25 crores on the first day, contributing around 45 percent to the all-India business. The single screens and non-national chains went berserk facing capacity issues and the same will flow over through the weekend.

The first weekend of Animal at an all-India level will be over Rs. 180 crores and this is a historic result for a Ranbir Kapoor film and this is probably a number that will remain unchallenged for years to come for a new generation of actors. Animal is already a HIT film with this start and the trend will tell us how big a blockbuster it emerges.
