Animal actress Mansi Taxak reacts to the scene where Aziz sexually assaults her; says, “Forget my character, even I would have said yes in that moment”

Every character of Animal seems to have received a lot of love and fame owing to the record-breaking success the movie enjoyed at the box office. From Saloni Batra who essayed the character of the sister of Ranbir Kapoor to Mansi Taxak, who played the third wife of Bobby Deol, many of the stars from the movie experienced a lot of love but at the same time, these female characters also received extensive backlash for portraying submissive roles in an already existing patriarchal society.

For the unversed, the character essayed by Mansi Taxak was that of the third wife of Bobby Deol aka Abrar Haque, whose marital rape scene became quite viral. Later, in another scene, she also gets sexually assaulted by Abrar’s brother’s Aziz. In a recent interaction, the actress not only opened up about the emotions she experienced during that scene but also revealed how she sympathized with the character because it was a scary situation for any woman to be in.

In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, she said, “In a way, he was threatening me while asking for my consent. It’s very difficult to turn someone like Aziz down, especially if you see the mood he’s in. He’s just killed someone, and he’s holding a knife. Forget my character, even I would have said yes in that moment. But given the character dynamics, for sure, Aziz is a strong-headed person, but he has certain lines that he maintains. It was a threat, yes, but he was also asking me, and he got the answer he wanted.”

Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor in the titular character with Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimrii, and Bobby Deol essaying pivotal roles. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and followed by its massive success, a sequel too has been announced which is titled Animal Park.
