Amul pays tribute to writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar after the success of their docuseries Angry Young Men

Having created some of the iconic characters in Bollywood, writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar are the men behind some of the biggest blockbusters which have catapulted actors like Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan to superstardom. In fact, the concept of ‘angry young man’ was made famous by the two writers in the film Zanjeer, and as a tribute to their work and to share their journey with the audience, the docuseries titled Angry Young Men was unveiled earlier this week which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Now with the love that the show has been receiving, Amul too decided to share a poster commemorating their work.

Readers would be aware that the dairy products brand Amul often takes to social media to create caricature posters of topical subjects related to different aspects of entertainment including films. Recently, the same happened with Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar when the brand decided to celebrate the success of their docuseries Angry Young Men by creating the caricature of a popular scene from their iconic film Sholay. The sketch used in the poster is inspired from the song ‘Yeh Dosti’ from the action drama which features Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra riding the scooter with a sidecar and the tagline too is inspired by the lyrics of the song as it read, “Yeh toast tea hum nahin chhodenge! – Amul Hungry Young Men’. The poster also left Javed Akhtar’s daughter Zoya quite impressed as she decided to repost it on her Instagram page.
