Akshay Kumar addresses his recent flops including Bade Miyan Chote Miyan; reveals about taking lessons from Rajesh Khanna as he says, “My father-in-law has taught me so much”

Akshay Kumar, who once ruled the box office, has been experiencing some setbacks at the box office in recent times. His last few films post the pandemic like Raksha Bandhan, Selfiee, Mission Raniganj, and even Bade Miyan Chote Miyan have failed to meet expectations but the actor has maintained a positive approach. Considering that the actor has been a part of the fraternity for almost four decades now, he recently revealed how he has experienced his share of hits and flops and also opened up about learning a lesson or two from his late father-in-law, superstar Rajesh Khanna.

Akshay Kumar opens up about how Rajesh Khanna too experienced a string of flops

Rajesh Khanna, who was considered as India’s first superstar, too experienced a few failures at the box office. Revealing that he has learnt from his own experience as well as his father-in-law’s, Akshay opened up about success and failure in his interview with Galatta Plus, wherein he said, “I don’t let anything enter my head. I have seen a lot of people fall down, I have heard many stories. My father-in-law has taught me so much, because he had seen the biggest success in life and then he saw a complete drop. I have heard stories. What I do is, I take knowledge from other people, and I realise that these things are just to be kept at a one-hand’s distance. My job is to just keep working.”

Akshay Kumar traces his fluctuating career graph

After being a part of the industry for almost 38 years, Akshay Kumar revealed how he has seen it all.  “In my career, I have given 16-18 hits continuously, then continuously I’ve given 10-12 flops. I don’t take it seriously. I’ve known this since the beginning of my career. It is not yours. It is a crown that will be passed on to others. Today, it’s with you, next Friday it’ll be with somebody else. Success is an amazing thing, but don’t take it seriously; it’ll run,” he added.

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming projects

Despite the recent response for his films, Akshay Kumar continues to have a long lineup of releases in the upcoming months. While he will be doing an extended cameo as Sooryavanshi in the Rohit Shetty copverse film Singham Again, the actor has Sarfira which is slated for release this week. He also has the action-comedy Khel Khel Main, Sky Force, Jolly LLB 3, Welcome To The Jungle, among others in the pipeline.
