Aditya Roy Kapur discusses his “chiller” relationship status and calls himself “emotionally self-sufficient” amid reports of his split with Ananya Panday: “I am good on my own”

Aditya Roy Kapur has recently addressed his relationship status following his breakup with Ananya Panday. In an exclusive interview with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her show What Women Want, the actor candidly discussed his personal life and his unique approach to handling relationships.

A Candid Conversation
In the latest promo for What Women Want, Kareena Kapoor Khan probed Aditya about his methods for dealing with ghosting in romantic relationships. Aditya, known for his laid-back demeanor, humorously responded that he would prefer to block someone rather than ghost them. 

During the episode, Kareena Kapoor Khan directly inquired about Aditya’s relationship status. The actor responded with a playful twist, asking, “Is chilling a status?” Kareena further teased him, saying, “You are always chilling, Adi,” to which he confidently affirmed, “I am a chiller.” This exchange highlighted Aditya’s laid-back attitude toward life, suggesting that he is taking things easy following his recent split.

As the conversation progressed, Kareena probed deeper into whether Aditya considered himself commitment-phobic. He reflected on his past relationships, stating, “I don’t know. I’ve had many relationships. I can’t say I’m commitment-phobic, because I’ve had long relationships, when I was younger, through my 20s, like five-year long relationships, three years long relationships.” 

Aditya elaborated on his emotional independence, saying, “I am good on my own, self-sufficient emotionally. It’s lovely to have love in your life as well, and that’s a whole different thing.” He expressed that while he values being self-sufficient, the beauty of love and relationships is undeniable. He clarified that he wouldn’t prefer one over the other.

As Kareena continued to press him for clarity regarding his relationship status, Aditya playfully suggested, “Let’s keep the mystery.” 
The Breakup with Ananya Panday
Aditya Roy Kapur recently ended his relationship with Ananya Panday, which had lasted for over two years. The couple had sparked romance rumors since 2022, often sharing subtle hints about their connection through social media posts and indirect references during interviews. A close friend of the duo confirmed their breakup to Bombay Times, stating, “They ended their relationship nearly a month ago. They seemed to be doing well together, so the breakup surprised all of us. They are on good terms, but Ananya is working on moving forward, though there’s definitely some pain involved. She’s been spending time with her new furry companion. Meanwhile, Aditya is also handling the situation in a mature manner.”
