90 Day Fiance: Shekinah Garner Falls for a Turkish Playboy with Makeup Skills on The Other Way

This week 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, introduced a brand new couple. We finally meet Shekinah Garner who is a California cosmetologist/ club promoter as she is preparing to move to be with her long-distance boyfriend, Sarper, in Istanbul, Turkey.

Shekinah met the model/ trainer five months earlier on a trip she took with a friend and found him on a dating app there. Now her friends are concerned she is moving too quickly. One friend in particular is even asking her to stay because he also has romantic feelings for her. This leaves fans curious about what is to come for this party-going pair.

90 Day Fiance: Shekinah Garner Grew Up Amish

At first glance, Shekinah may seem like the average 41-year-old aesthetician living in Los Angeles, California. Soon after her introduction, however, she revealed that she was raised in the “Amish lifestyle” throughout her childhood.

Shekinah was the oldest of six girls and lived in Tennessee with her family and without the modern luxuries others her age enjoyed. Shekinah said she was the most rebellious of her sisters and ultimately convinced her parents to leave the Amish lifestyle, and now lives her life as glamorous in every way as she possibly can.

Alongside her aesthetician career, Shekinah also co-hosts events in Los Angeles, bringing “attractive” people to create a vibrant atmosphere. She explains, “So if you’ve ever been to an event where the vibe just feels right, it’s usually because of someone like me.”

But now Shekinah wants to abandon her club scene and career for love. “My attraction and connection with Sarper is so strong that I’m willing to leave this entire life that I’ve built in Los Angeles to go and be with him,” she explains in her confessional.

The Other Way: Shekinah Loves That Her Beau Sarper Wears Makeup

After matching with Sarper, the couple met for a date and instantly hit it off. Shekinah explained that she appreciated that the model put extra effort into his appearance in order to impress her. “You know how people usually say, ‘You had me at hello?’ Sarper had me at highlighter,” she said in a confessional.

She continues, “He was wearing highlighter on our first date. And I noticed it down the bridge of his nose, and I was like, ‘This man is wearing makeup. He’s wearing makeup on a date with me. That is so cute!’”

However, during an intimate evening gathering with her four best friends Dan, Josh, Shawna and Wendy. According to Sarper himself he has been with 2500 women.

Shekinah insisted that her relationship with Sarper was different, despite her friend’s concern that she was falling back into a pattern of falling for attractive playboys. But now with her daughter off at boarding school, she feels this the right time to make her move.

Three Is a Crowd for This 90 Day Couple

In true 90 Day Fiance fashion there is a twist to this love story. One of Shekinah’s friends named Dan is a previous suitor that she dated in the past. During her friend’s night he approaches her with a possible reconciliation of his own. “Shekinah, I wanna talk with you for a minute. Come with me,” he told her as he led her away from the group in the kitchen and into the living room for a private chat.

Back on a couch in L.A., Shekinah listened intently as Dan admitted his romantic feelings for her. “You know, we’ve been through a lot of things in the past seven years. I really want you to be happy, but I want you to know what I really think about you,” he said. “So, you know, we — I really still do love you. And I just think that we should be together.”

This understandably caused bit of a hiccup in the aesthetician’s plans with Sarper. “Dan, he is the perfect catch. He’s so successful. So sweet, so charming, and I know that he would be a great partner,” she said in her own confessional interview. She ultimately tells Dan no and that her heart is in Turkey with Sarper.
